Oct 10, 2011As far as valve seats i bought a couple large round mounted grinding stones and using the same process (putting the bob in the drill and a carbide tool bit in the vise ) i set the proper angle to the stone then just mount your block or head in the drill press and you can grind the seat. you must regrind the bob for each seat.

It could use a new belt to drive the valve chuck but everything is tight and she works fine. I do have the pickup pan for the cutting oil and the shield but took them off to clean. Now to find seat

Oct 01, 2018If it were me I would not put ANY down pressure on the stone holder. When you grind seats your supposed to support the weight of the motor in your hands. The stone holder and stone are supposed to be the only weight on the valve seat. As Dieseladdicted said feathering the switch works pretty good if need be.
